Hold You Down is an edgy novel from rising star Tracy Brown about the perils of love and the ties that bind…

New York City. Late 1980s to early 1990s.

Mercy and Lenox Howard have always only had each other. Growing up on the mean streets of Harlem with an absentee mother meant that they had to have each other's backs. Now young, smart mothers they are determined to survive in New York City while raising their two sons, who have bright futures ahead of them.

Mercy is the quiet, straight laced hospital administrator, struggling to make ends meet. At night and on weekends, she pours her heart into her cooking and her dream of owning her own restaurant. Lenox is the diva, the wild child, looking for excitement and her big come up in life and love. Their boys, Deon and Judah, have been raised more like brothers than cousins, forging a bond that is unbreakable.

When Lenox heads down a path that she believes will bring success and power, it changes the entire course of her life and her family’s life forever. As a result of their mother’s choices, cousins Deon and Judah soon find themselves in uncharted territory.

Nia Vale has been famous since she was sixteen.

As one of the most recognizable voice actresses and body models in gaming, Nia has built a career giving life to characters players worship, mourn, and quote like scripture. Beautiful, quick-witted, and impossible to ignore, she knows how to handle fame, conventions, fans, interviews, and the constant hunger of an industry that has always wanted more from her.

But after two stalkers and a near-kidnapping, her father has had enough.

Nolan Vale, tech billionaire and overprotective widower, spares no expense hiring Daniel Nez, a Navajo former spec ops soldier with a flawless record and no interest in being charmed by his new client. Daniel is serious, direct, disciplined, and about as fun as a locked door.

Nia cannot stand him.

Unfortunately, she also cannot stop looking at him.

Daniel was hired to protect Nia for the next two years as she steps into the biggest role of her career: Queen Seraphine Valeira in Crownfall, the long-awaited comeback project from legendary Japanese game director Daichi Moriyama. The game is massive. The reveal is career-defining. And Nia is not just the voice of its displaced queen.

She is the face, the body, and the soul of her.

As Daniel follows Nia through packed conventions, recording sessions, press events, and studio appearances, irritation turns into trust. Trust turns into heat. And heat turns into a secret neither of them can afford.

Then, on the eve of Nia’s biggest announcement, her ex, disgraced gaming executive Liam MacArthur, releases AI-generated images designed to ruin her reputation and derail her career. The images are fake, but they are convincing enough to make the world question her.

Daniel knows the truth.

Because according to the timestamp, Nia was with him.

Exposing their relationship may save her career, but it also turns Liam’s obsession into something far more dangerous. If he cannot destroy Nia publicly, he will take her privately.

And Daniel did not fall for Nia Vale just to let another man put his hands on her.

I’m Tierra Cox, a romance author and cross-genre novelist devoted to stories where we, Black women, are seen, desired, and worshiped out loud.

By day, I navigate the corporate communications world—but by night, I build realms where monsters kneel, empires burn, and love is never ordinary.

Armed with an overpriced English degree and an imagination that refuses to stay quiet, I write across fantasy, paranormal, sci-fi, and gothic romance—all bound by one promise: Black women at the center of passion, power, and possibility.

Every world I create asks the same question—what does it look like when a woman like us is the story’s beating heart?

When I’m not writing (which is rare), you’ll find me somewhere in Georgia watching bad sci-fi, dreaming about alien royalty, or wandering through my next world before it’s written.

My entire collection is available on NOIR PAGES, in paperback on Amazon and in collections on my website!

Juniper Wells never expected her favorite K-pop group, Voix, to notice her, let alone invite her backstage.

What begins as a chance meeting turns into something far more binding when she signs a non-disclosure agreement she doesn’t fully read.

The document ties her to three men who rule both the stage and the shadows—Taek, the controlled perfectionist; Rion, all motion and instinct; and Seungmin, the deceptively playful craftsman.

Their world is glitter, power, and unspoken rules. Hers is the ordinary rhythm of a woman who has wanted too much for too long.

When desire collides with control, Juniper learns that surrender and strength might share the same pulse—and that the line between devotion and freedom is never where you think it is.

They have always belonged to each other—just never in the way the world understands.

Raised between two countries and bound by a friendship forged long before they had a choice, Berlin and Jiwon grew up as constants in each other’s lives. Summers were shared. Grief was shared. Even distance never truly separated them.

So when Jiwon calls from Seoul with news he can’t explain over the phone, Berlin doesn’t hesitate—she goes to him, the way they always have for each other.

What she finds waiting for her will change everything.

As family obligations tighten and old traditions threaten to dictate the future, a decision made in desperation draws them into an arrangement that blurs the line between pretense and truth. Forced to confront grief, loyalty, and the quiet love they’ve never dared to name, they must learn what it means to choose each other—not out of habit, but out of intention.

Because some families are born.
And some are built, piece by piece, by those brave enough to stay.

Hanuel & Malcolm is a tender, emotionally rich contemporary romance about found family, second chances, and the courage it takes to claim the life—and love—you’ve already been living.
