Ten years ago, Jamarcus Reed disappeared the morning Lena Carver was ready to leave everything behind for him. Now he’s back, and the truth about why he left could destroy everything she thought she knew.
Lena has spent her life surrounded by the wealth and power of Blackthorne Heights, where old Black dynasties protect their money almost as fiercely as their secrets. After losing her husband, Kasim, she wants nothing more than to raise their daughter and grow Noire House, the luxury wellness empire she built for herself.
Then someone tries to kill her father.
A supernatural bullet meant for Lena’s daughter awakens a power her family has hidden from her since childhood, and the man assigned to protect them is Jamarcus, the college love who vanished without explanation.
Forced beneath the same roof, old anger collides with an attraction neither of them buried as deeply as they thought. But Jamarcus isn’t the only one keeping secrets.
Kasim’s death may have been murder. Lena’s marriage may have been arranged for reasons darker than money. Her daughter carries a bloodline powerful enough to unlock something buried beneath Blackthorne Heights, and the people hunting her are willing to kill to possess it.
To save her child, Lena must uncover the truth about her husband, confront the father who controlled her life, and decide whether the man who once broke her heart is the one person she can trust when her family’s darkest secrets finally come calling.
Some families inherit wealth. Lena inherited the door beneath it.
