Queenie Jenkins is moving on up.

She’s thirty-three, the editorial director for The Good Sis, a thriving media network amplifying the voices of Black women, a far cry from her former toxic workplace. With a great platform and a renewed sense of purpose, she’s fighting the good fight.

So when an appointment for research goes haywire and reveals startling truths about her own fertility, Queenie is confronted with a racing biological clock when she’s not even sure she wants kids in the first place. She’s sort of seeing someone, but it’s not that serious (according to him), and her mom, grandma, and aunt Maggie all mean well, but they keep asking when she’s going to settle down.

Surrounded by loyal friends who seem to fall in love with their person and get pregnant at the drop of a hat, Queenie feels they just don’t get her. After a series of confusing “situationships” that prove more trouble than they’re worth, an old flame that she’s now second-guessing why she ended it with, and her beloved grandfather’s failing health, Queenie feels as though time is running out in all the parts in her life. And she’s going to do what she thinks is best to get back on track, no matter how inadvisable.

Bigger. Not better. Older. Not wiser. The beloved and flawed Queenie Jenkins is scared, she is frustrated, she is confused…but…she is working on it.","format",{"_19":26,"_88":110,"_111":112,"_113":48},"publisher","page_count",400,"duration","published_date","pub_date","September 8","isbn","9781982178116","asin","1982178116","hex_code","#f5d600","language","English","purchase_links",[],"playlist_links",[],"cover","https://cdn.blackauthored.com/books/4517i/e5ed1bf9-68e4-46a8-a25a-75896656565c.jpg","thumb","https://img.blackauthored.com/?preset=poster_thumb&image=https%3A%2F%2Fcdn.blackauthored.com%2Fbooks%2F4517i%2Fe5ed1bf9-68e4-46a8-a25a-75896656565c.jpg","rating_distribution",{"_103":104,"_105":106},"tags",[85,86],{"_19":24,"_88":99,"_90":100,"_54":-5,"_52":101,"_93":102,"_95":48,"_97":48,"_98":50},{"_19":87,"_88":89,"_90":91,"_54":-5,"_52":92,"_93":94,"_95":96,"_97":48,"_98":50},71,"name","Contemporary","category","setting","contemporary","url","/settings/contemporary","selectable",true,"sensitive","position","Romance","genre","romance","/genres/romance","ratings",{},"recommend",{"_107":50,"_108":24,"_109":50},"yes","no","maybe","Hardcover","type","print","audio","Queenie","98706b63-adff-4aab-a04d-886be5b3a787","order",{"_19":118,"_88":119,"_52":120,"_121":-5,"_122":-5,"_123":124,"_125":126,"_127":96},"7a2387be-9a7d-47a2-94ab-d12bd941f357","Candice Carty-Williams","464-candice-carty-williams","biography","image","books_count",3,"roles",[128],"in_catalog","author","isLoggedIn",["P",130],"result","seo",{"_13":140,"_141":142,"_54":143,"_144":145,"_93":146,"_147":148,"_149":150},"user","themePreference","light","storedTheme","gaId","G-Z1HVZ17GZ3","Blackauthored","titleTemplate","%s","Find your next Black authored read and connect with readers with the similar taste.","handle","@blackauthored","https://blackauthored.com","robots",{"_164":48,"_165":48},"jsonLd",{"_151":152,"_153":154,"_88":140,"_155":156,"_157":158,"_93":146},"@context","https://schema.org","@type","Organization","logo","https://cdn.blackauthored.com/images/og-image.png","sameAs",[159,160,161,162,163],"https://twitter.com/blackauthored","https://facebook.com/blackauthored","https://instagram.com/blackauthored","https://youtube.com/blackauthored","https://tiktok.com/@blackauthored","noIndex","noFollow"]
