Being in love with a man who chooses his career over her is draining for Aspen. She tries to give him her all, only to receive nothing in return. Aspen grows tired of the lonely nights and excuses. All she yearns for from Lance is for him to show up for her the way she does for him. With her being pregnant with twins, Aspen hoped it would change him. Instead, it seems to push him away, while simultaneously pushing her into the arms of another man.

Mahari Creed
After losing his fiancée during childbirth years ago, Mahari isn’t looking for love again. He buries himself in his work while showing up for his best friend, Aspen. Assisting her to her appointments and going to save her in the middle of the night sometimes triggers Mahari, but he wants nothing more than to continue showing up for her. He knows she needs him, so Mahari picks up where his cousin, Lance, drops the ball.

The time spent together draws Aspen and Mahari closer. Mahari knows he’s the type of man Aspen needs, but is the love he has for her worth coming between family?","format",{"_19":113,"_86":114,"_115":116,"_117":46},"publisher","page_count",190,"duration","published_date","pub_date","July 8","isbn","asin","B0H846P13R","hex_code","#114144","language","English","purchase_links",[],"playlist_links",[],"cover","https://cdn.blackauthored.com/books/5043i/bb15c5f9-f9f2-4ead-bee9-a8822cdb4181.jpg","thumb","https://img.blackauthored.com/?preset=poster_thumb&image=https%3A%2F%2Fcdn.blackauthored.com%2Fbooks%2F5043i%2Fbb15c5f9-f9f2-4ead-bee9-a8822cdb4181.jpg","rating_distribution",{"_106":107,"_108":109},"tags",[82,83,84],{"_19":102,"_86":103,"_88":89,"_52":-5,"_50":104,"_91":105,"_93":94,"_95":46,"_96":48},{"_19":97,"_86":98,"_88":89,"_52":99,"_50":100,"_91":101,"_93":94,"_95":46,"_96":48},{"_19":85,"_86":87,"_88":89,"_52":-5,"_50":90,"_91":92,"_93":94,"_95":46,"_96":48},36,"name","Forbidden Love","category","trope","forbidden-love","url","/tropes/forbidden-love","selectable",true,"sensitive","position",141,"Love after Loss","","love-after-loss","/tropes/love-after-loss",31,"Friends to Lovers","friends-to-lovers","/tropes/friends-to-lovers","ratings",{},"recommend",{"_110":24,"_111":48,"_112":48},"yes","no","maybe",3,"Kindle","type","digital","audio",{"_19":119,"_86":120,"_50":121,"_122":-5,"_123":-5,"_124":125,"_126":127,"_128":94},"49cdd31d-9dac-44c6-af51-c67348413095","Fallynn West","610-fallynn-west","biography","image","books_count",12,"roles",[129],"in_catalog","author","isLoggedIn",["P",131],"result","seo",{"_13":141,"_142":143,"_52":144,"_145":146,"_91":147,"_148":149,"_150":151},"user","themePreference","light","storedTheme","gaId","G-Z1HVZ17GZ3","Blackauthored","titleTemplate","%s","Find your next Black authored read and connect with readers with the similar taste.","handle","@blackauthored","https://blackauthored.com","robots",{"_165":46,"_166":46},"jsonLd",{"_152":153,"_154":155,"_86":141,"_156":157,"_158":159,"_91":147},"@context","https://schema.org","@type","Organization","logo","https://cdn.blackauthored.com/images/og-image.png","sameAs",[160,161,162,163,164],"https://twitter.com/blackauthored","https://facebook.com/blackauthored","https://instagram.com/blackauthored","https://youtube.com/blackauthored","https://tiktok.com/@blackauthored","noIndex","noFollow"]
